Beating Vegas Week 8 — FedEx St. Jude Classic

We go down to Memphis this week for a tournament that no one other than sick children cares about since the US Open is next week and that’s way more interesting to talk about. Luckily, people love betting so there are still lines on the tournament! Let’s see if someone can break the pathetic winless streak we’ve put together in the past 5 or so weeks.

Jack “can’t give himself a nickname” S’s Picks

I still stand by my decision to go with the bad players like I did last week. Looking at the field this week, it seems like that would be a decent strategy. I mean, how is Stephan Bowditch still at 250/1? He already won this year. Sure he pretty much sucks, but he’s proven he can win. He should at least be bumped up to 230/1 like fellow Tour winner Chesson Hadley is…

Zach Johnson (25/1): $30

Victor Dubuisson (35/1): $25

Steven Bowditch (250/1): $5

Lee Westwood (19/1): $20

Dustin Johnson (14/1): $20

Mike “has to be fluent in Italian by now (isn’t)” M’s Picks

This just in, I am bad at picking. With that in mind I will be switching up the strategy. Going to go with my favorite to win for $20, three midrange guys who I think have a decent shot for $20 each, and five long range guys for $4 each. Now, I picked Kuchar to win a couple weeks ago and he did, but it only netted me something like $30 (with $100 on the line). Because of this, I’m hesitant to pick more than one favorite since it seems like a hedge. Additionally, there are several players with long odds that have won or come close this season.

Dustin Johnson (14/1): $20

Victor Dubuisson (35/1): $20

Billy Horschel (50/1): $20

Thorbjorn Olesen (70/1): $20

Mike Weir (150/1): $4

Stuart Cink (190/1): $4

Tim Clark (220/1): $4

Steven Bowditch (250/1): $4

Brad Fritsch (250/1): $4

Grant “Can’t tell if he didn’t remember, or know’s he won’t pick winners” F’s Picks

On the way, or not.
