Beating Vegas Week 7 — The Memorial

Congrats to Mike on the surprise and somewhat rare pick of the number one player in the world Adam Scott! This week in Ohio, hopefully we can notch another win.

Jack “has been in the green since week 2 and is coasting” S’s Picks

While I may not know off the top of my head what they’re memorializing this week, I do know one fact. Picking a bunch of people will give a better chance of winning than picking few people. I’m ignoring the fact that most these players are long shots since they are all the longest of shots according to our vegas odds. Since there were 49 players at 250/1, I needed to choose 1 of the two players at 230/1 to make it an even 50 players at $2 each. Literally the worst thing that could happen is if Nick Watney (the other fool at 230/1) would win. But I have faith in his ineptitude.

Mike “Does Italy have Royalty?” M’s Picks

Well, the post is late because of me. I wasn’t able to submit my picks Wednesday night and I usually put Grant’s picks in for him. Anyway, these are picks I made yesterday morning. Had to handicap myself a little since play had just begun so I only went in blind with no idea of odds and limited myself to five. I chose, without looking, the four players with the worst (best?) odds and BVP for $20 bones apiece. Since I won last week with the favorite, I’m hoping this works (though I netted $30 so wasn’t totally worth it). Here they are:

Rory McIlroy 7/1: $20
Adam Scott 9/1: $20
Matt Kuchar 13/1: $$20
Justin Rose 16/1: $20
Bo Van Pelt 75/1: $20
Don’t even ask me how BVP is getting 75/1. That is just absurd for someone who’s last top 10 was at the Wells Fargo. In 2013. Whatever, I have myself to blame.

Grant “Loves Self Waterfalling Jameson” F’s Picks

So, so desperate at this point. With four weeks remaining I am in quite the hole, so keep that in mind and don’t scoff at my picks:

Justin Rose 16/1: $30
Jim Furyk 24/1: $30
Bubba Watson: 25/1: $30
Brendon Todd: 75/1: $10
